What would you do with $25,000 - Casey Neistat used the promo budget from ‘The Secret Life of Walter Mitty’ to help typoon victims in the Philippines.

Casey Neistat used the promo budget from ‘The Secret Life of Walter Mitty’ to help typoon victims in the Philippines.

When Manhattan filmmaker Casey Neistat was asked to make a $20,000 promotional video for Ben Stiller's new blockbuster movie, he almost turned it down.

But the email from advertising firm Ogilvy & Mather came five days after the deadliest typhoon on record made landfall in the Philippines, so Neistat replied with a “curt” proposal asking for the full budget upfront to take directly to desperate survivors.

“It was just a joke,” he told the Daily News Tuesday. “Never did I think that they would take it seriously and make it happen"

Neistat, 32, booked flights on his credit card and left with a friend three days later.

Once in the Philippines, Neistat rented two buses and filled them with 4,000 cases of crackers, 2,008 cans of fish, more than 4,000 pounds of rice, 1,440 cans of Spam, 1,000 medical masks, 30 hammers, 30 saws and other supplies – and drove through the night to reach the devastated city of Tacloban.

Hope for Paws rescues junkyard dog

Hope for Paws a non-profit animal rescue organization has uploaded a very inspirational and tear-jerking video of a rescued dog that was reported to be living in a junkyard for months. Named as Miley, she was covered in mange and nasty wounds and was very worn-out from her situation.

Miley was then treated by anti-mange, anti-parasitic and other medicines to allow her to heal. It took her a couple days to feel better and even give her rescuer a kiss. Later on, she does an amazing feat by befriending another rescued dog named Frankie. Frankie was rescued from a drain pipe and was afraid of everything, until Miley came along and befriended him.

The video that was uploaded was from a Hope for Paws rescuer by the name of Eldad Hagar. Subscribe to his channel for more inspiring and heart-felt videos of animal rescues! Also, please help support and donate to the Hope for Paws organization to support more rescues and animals that are in need of help. Donate and visit the Hope for Paws website here

Rios' failed in drug test; Pacquiao reacted

Rios' failed in drug test; Pacquiao reacted

After losing to Pacquiao via unanimous decision when they fought in Macau, Rios was found to have failed his last drug test, administered by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA). Rios tested positive for the banned substance methylhexanamine, which is a known dietary supplement.

“Next fight na magkakaroon ako, ilalagay ko sa kontrata ko na kapag mag-positive ‘yung kalaban ko, dapat mag-multa siya,” Pacquiao said. “Hindi lang suspinde. Mag-multa siya sa commission, para ma-disiplina 'yung boxer at 'yung trainer.” Pacquiao passed all the tests administered by VADA – the four pre-fight tests and the post-fight blood and urine tests.

The Filipino champ said he never suspected Rios of using a banned substance, but was admittedly surprised that “Bam Bam” managed to stay upright for 12 rounds even when being repeatedly battered. “Hindi ako nag-iisip ng ganoon, until nalaman ko,” Pacquiao said. “Surprised din ako, dahil bakit ini-inda niya 'yung mga suntok ko na talagang tumatama? Feel na feel ko sa kamay ko.” When informed that Rios and his strength and conditioning trainer, Alex Ariza, has questioned the VADA protocols for doing the drug testing, Pacquiao pointed out that they followed the same procedure. “Kung ano ginawa sa kanya, ganoon din (sa akin),” said Pacquiao. “Mahirap ‘yung mangatwiran.”
